Pitchdeck for Fightmathics, Combat Sports Video Analytics Startup

While sports like football and tennis have embraced cutting-edge tech — from AI referees to smart ball tracking — combat sports remain in the dark ages. Even at the highest level, rankings are subjective, decisions are often questioned, and audiences struggle to follow what’s really happening in the cage.

The result? Over 90% of viewers lose engagement mid-fight. Even UFC’s Dana White has acknowledged the gap — reportedly asking Mark Zuckerberg to help develop an AI-based fighter rating system.

Fightmathics was born in response to this wave, with the mission to create a mathematical model and AI video analytics platform for the entire MMA industry. And they came to Blank to help turn that mission into a compelling, fundable story. Blank has a deep understanding of SportsTech arena proved by multiple publications.

Project Brief

Client: Fightmathics

Stage: Pre-seed

Focus: A platform of AI-powered video analytics tools built around a core mathematical model — enabling smarter decisions for promotions, fighters, broadcasters, betting operators, and fan platforms.

Challenge: Fightmathics chose a high-stakes path: instead of targeting one segment, they aimed to serve six — each with different needs. At the same time, the market is fragmented, poorly digitized, and short on usable open data. We had to build a clear, investor-ready narrative for a deeply technical solution aimed at a broad and complex market.

What We Did

We began by analyzing the timing — showing that the shift from wearables to AI video analytics was already underway, and that no dominant player had emerged. PFL’s Smart Cage was proof of both the opportunity and the pitfall of cost-heavy solutions.

Fightmathics, we argued, could win by being scalable, data-driven, and platform-based. We worked hand-in-hand with the founders to:

– Translate a complex AI model into a clear product story

— Define value propositions for six stakeholder groups

— Build a monetization stream for each one

— Refine the investment narrative and pitch flow

— Recalculate the unit economics and correct model assumptions

— Build a market sizing model (TAM–SAM–SOM) in tandem with their industry expertise

— Analyze competitors and outline a differentiated strategy

— Shape a go-to-market plan based on real media, conferences, and influencer mapping in the combat sports space

Pitch slides we created:

Why Now →

We built a compelling argument around market timing: MMA is entering a new era of global popularity: top league social accounts are growing by 60%+ each year, and the sport is now among the top 10 globally in viewership and participation. We also illustrated how legacy systems and “eyeball judgments” are failing fans and professionals alike.

How It Works →

We explained the product through storytelling: 10,000 historical fights, digital twins, 30+ strike classes, anthropometric modeling — all feeding into a model that answers the question, “Who wins — and why?”

Market & Competition →

Together with the founders, we built a grounded TAM–SAM–SOM based on deep industry insight. We studied computer vision competitors like FightGeek, Combat IQ, Jabbr, and also addressed why others failed — and why Fightmathics wouldn’t.

Go-to-Market Strategy →

We crafted a tailored strategy targeting sports agents, MMA influencers, media outlets like Sherdog, Bloody Elbow, and MMA Fighting, as well as relevant industry events. We mapped out potential partnerships and brand ambassador profiles — moving beyond theory to execution-focused planning.

→ Outcome

Fightmathics walked away with a sharp, structured, and ambitious pitch deck — one that resonated with both investors and domain experts. They now have the storytelling tools, numbers, and strategy to compete — and we continue to support them with introductions and deal prep as they enter the next round.
